Saving the Universe?!?
We held a riotously great party a few weeks back at CAMP just off Old Street roundabout with Overproof collaberating with The Bang Bang.
It was super cheap to get in, cos let's face it, everyone is broke-as-a-joke in January, we just wanted to say a massive thankyou, all the guys that have supported the Blog, and The Bang Bang throughout the whole of last year.
Below are pics of some of the madness, drunken loutishness, and stone cold beautiful people that came through and shook their arses.
All pics by Jo'lene Henry
The Bang Bang are throwing another Superhero themed banger this Saturday at Bar512 on Kingsland Rd in Dalston.
A super hero out fit (towels around necks, and y-fronts over the jeans it is then) get cheap £3 entry.
Mr Smith, the sicker hiphop dj, is headlining, and he's put this dope HipHop/Dubstep/Dancehall mini mix together, as a taster.
So, errr, taste away init.
It's downloadable too!

Trapstar Cypher
Trapstar along with myself & sbtv put PNB's very own Nate alongside Skits, Ash Catch Em & Shadez The Misfit into a cypher situation last week to see who gets the most votes in order to secure a spot on the upcoming Trappy Showcase...
I gave em the instrumental of a UKHH classic 'Dedication' (by Rodney P & Skitz if you're unfamiliar) & let em go in!
All 4 rappers are part of a new breed of UK mcs that I feel will fill the gap between hardcore, uk 'road' rap & the glossy chart topping fodder we've become acustomed to in recent times, keep an eye on em all & come back to PNB for more stuff from these lot!
Make sure you vote on your favourite!

Shit that makes me happy...
So Eminem's signed Slaughterhouse (Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Royce da 5"9 & Crooked I collectively) & Yelawolf to Shady Records, huge look for both (that Slaughterhouse one is a long time coming really innit) & refreshing considering I read 50 Cent has signed that X Factor reject Gamu (sigh).
If you're unfamiliar with either, here's a new banger from Slaughterhouse and my personal favourite from Yelawolf.
Looking forward to the output!

Jeff Staple On Hip Hop, Garms and Street Culture
Jeff Staple breaks it down to the Student Hip Hop organisation about his views on the changing Street-wear and street Culture movement. He also lets us know his views on the business of Hip Hop, Drake and rappers making "Ringtones," opposed to songs along with why he stopped getting drunk. Jeff Staple's got some good stories about tours with Nas and a huge basket of fruit, its an interesting watch, have a view.

The Heatwave - London Bashment
You don't need me to tell you that The Heatwave have been flying the flag for Dancehall in the UK for more than a minute, they're constantly pushing the sound wether its jetsetting to spread the Bashment sound, their weekly show on Rinse or being booked all over the globe (New York, Australia & all over Europe) in 2010
They've had London Bashment on lock with their Hot Wuk nights too, I had the pleasure of being able to spin @ their xmas bashment night at the end of last month....most fun I've had spinning in a minute!

Hyperfrank X Roundhouse X Boxfresh present 'Volume Control'
Finally the bank holiday drag over from the Xmas & New Year is over! down to business & our mate Hyperfrank isn't wasting time with her new project getting the fans involved in the creation of new music...
"Hyperfrank has joined forces with The Roundhouse & Boxfresh to give YOU the opportunity to get involved in the music we all love. Every edition we will be choosing 1 artist, #1 is Dot Rotten, giving you three options to choose what beat we should take them into Roundhouse studios with.
Every edition will be a completely different unique selection of productions. Some based on solely one genre the other a mix & match of classic material & other underground sounds. The main aims are 1) Give fans a chance to hear what they want to hear from the MC. 2) Give opportunities for less profiled, yet still talented, producers to work with more well known acts. 3) To hear some damn GOOD music"

Look at Chris Brown now...
Chris Brown featuring Busta Rhymes & Lil Wayne - 'Look at me now' (produced by Diplo & Afrojack)
Ike Turner 2.0 has got Diplo & Afrojack on the buttons for something weirdly great & invited Busta Rhymes along with Lil' Wayne to get involved.
I'm not 100% on it yet, love the production and Busta wipes his arse with it but I'm not sold on Chris Brown rapping...

Footsie - Rastaman Pickney EP
Newham General Footsie dropped this badboy EP over the christmas season, but somehow it got a little lost in the midst of the other big giveaways the UK Underground threw out over the festive period...it's got some serious instrumental gems & a solid new vocal in 'High grade No Bush' (above) from Foots, who I have to send a big shout to for blessing our infamous Christmas party @ Cordy House (footage & proper pics soon land!).
